The Sun newspaper has reported that Matt Smith tripped in his flat early yesterday morning, cutting his head open during a party celebrating that he had finished filming the second part of the current series. He was taken to hospital for three stitches. A BBC insider said: "Matt tripped over in his flat and sustained a minor head cut. "He went to A&E as a precaution. In Other News last night's episode "Day Of The Moon" according to overnight rating reached 5.4 million viewers. Whilst BBC Three's Doctor Who Confidential received 0.36 million viewers. Doctor Who - The Impossible Astronaut - Tonight!

Episode one of series 6 "The Impossible Astronaut" airs tonight on BBC One and BBC One HD at 6:00pm. The episode synopsis can be read below:-

Four envelopes, numbered 2, 3 and 4, each containing a date, time and map reference, unsigned, but TARDIS blue. Who sent them? And who received the missing number one? This strange summons reunites the Doctor, Amy, Rory and River Song in the middle of the Utah desert and unveils a terrible secret the Doctor’s friends must never reveal to him.

Placing his life entirely in their hands, the Doctor agrees to search for the recipient of the fourth envelope – just who is Canton Everett Delaware the Third? And what is the relevance of their only other clue: ‘Space 1969′? Their quest lands them – quite literally – in the Oval Office, where they are enlisted by President Nixon himself to assist enigmatic former-FBI agent Canton, in saving a terrified little girl from a mysterious spaceman.

It has been confirmed by the BBC that there will be a tribute to Elisabeth Sladen who sadly passed away yesterday, will be shown before this Saturday's Doctor Who Series 6 opening episode. Also after Doctor Who, a fifteen minute tribute called "My Sarah Jane" will be shown on CBBC, the channel which is home to Elisabeth's hit Doctor Who spin off show The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Elisabeth Sladen 1948 - 2011

I'm sure most of you are aware of the sudden and tragic news that Elisabeth Sladen, best known for her role as Sarah Jane Smith in both Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures has passed away following her battle with cancer. This has come as a shock to all fans past and present, she will be sadly missed. A statement was earlier made by Doctor Who Magazine's twitter page, confirming the tragic news:-

"With great sadness, DWM must report the loss of our beloved Sarah Jane, actress Elisabeth Sladen. The best of best friends. Too, too sad."

I have had so much work with college, in truth I still have but with the new series about to begin I just couldn't stay away from starting the site up again. Doctor Who : Wii & DS Games

Two Doctor Who Games will be released on October 29th, in the UK & Ireland plus other european countries and Australia, the games are entitled: "Doctor Who : Return To Earth" which will be released on Nintendo's Wii console for the RRP Of £34.99 & "Doctor Who : Evacuation Earth" on the Nintendo DS for the RRP Of £34.99. Doctor Who : Return To Earth : Wii

The Doctor and Amy help the SS Lucy Gray to return home to Earth, unravelling a Cyber Plot and preventing the Daleks from retrieving a lost Time Axis along the way.

The Doctor and Amy arrive on a human colony ship returning to Earth after it was rendered uninhabitable by solar flares.

Without provocation they are attacked by the ship's maintenance robots and become seperated in the struggle.

The Doctor is eventually led to the ship's Head Quarters, where he discovers a Cyber Leader has connected himself to the ships AI and is blackmailing it into doing his bidding, or else he'll kill the crew.

Meanwhile the Cybermen that were hiding in the ship ambush Amy and chase her out into space.

Guide the Doctor and Amy as they face their biggest adventure yet!

Doctor Who : Evacuation Earth : DS

The Doctor and Amy arrive at the Lake District to watch the humans leave the planet. Suddenly the TARDIS gets lifted from them and bolted onto the evacuation ship. They have to make their way onto the ship before it leaves. As the ship launches it has technical problems and they realise the Silurians have built a ship underneath. The Doctor finds a solution to make the ship work.

Suddenly the Dalek ship smashes into the human one and splits the Silurian half off. It's the Dalek ship that chased the Time Axis into the sun - they weren't destroyed, they actually made a random jump several hundred years into the past.

The Daleks are pleased that they can exact revenge on the Doctor but first they make him fix their ship. The Doctor goes along with their plan but tricks them into bolting the TARDIS onto their ship, which he promptly jumps into and uses to fling them into the nearest black hole.

"Death of the Doctor" is written by Gary Russel and "The Nightmare Man" is written by Joseph Lidster. The books are due for release on Novemeber 4th 2010. Torchwood : The New World Synopsis

Torchwood : Series 4 Filming News

Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper) has recently released information regarding the filming of Torchwood Series 4. She revealed that filming for the new series will start in January 2011, meaning that Torchwood Series 4 will not air until the second half of the year, or perhaps the beginning of 2012. Flesh And Stone : Episode Synopsis

The BBC Press Office have now released the official synopsis for Series 5, Episode 5 "Flesh And Stone", which will air on May 1st on BBC One & BBC HD. "Flesh And Stone" is part two of a two parter story which sees Amy Pond, The Doctor and the return of River Song battling against the scary Weeping Angels (first seen in Series 3, "Blink"). The synopsis can be read below:-

"There's no way back, no way up and no way out. Trapped among an army of Weeping Angels, the Doctor and his friends must try to escape through the wreckage of a crashed space liner, in the fifth episode of Doctor Who, written by Steven Moffat. 2Entertain will be releasing Torchwood Series 1 - 3 Box Set in the neat future. The set will include all Torchwood episodes and all Torchwood Declassified episodes. The box set is set to be released on 26th October for the RRP Of £59.99. The cover and synopsis will be posted when avalible. In Other News BBC America has recently released the viewing figures for Torchwood : Children Of Earth which was broadcast last month. The show reached an average of 705,000 viewers each night. There is quite a few things to talk about in this Who News! Firstly on 20th August at 8.00pm on BBC Three, a special Doctor Who Confidential called "Doctor Who Greatest Moments: The Doctor” will be broadcast. The show features all of the 10th Doctor's best moments from Series 2 - 4 and includes interviews with David Tennant himself, John Barrowman (Captain Jack), David Morrissey (Jackson Lake) and Mark Gatiss (Lazarus). Next Russel T Davies book 'The Writer’s Tale' will be updated about information concerning the 2009 Doctor Who Specials. The book itself is written by head writer of Doctor Who; Russel T Davies. Who News! Is Back! To start Who News, Russel T Davies has confirmed the running time of David Tennant's last Doctor Who Episode "The End Of Time". The episode will last one hour and 15 minutes! The episode see's the return of the Master and other characters including Donna Noble.
Secondly inside the current issue of SFX magazine there is news about The Sarah Jane Adventures Series 3 from an interview with producer of the show Nikki Smith. WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! (Highlight To Reveal) In the interview she reveals that the Slitheen and their cousin family the Blathareen will feature in the final story of the Series. She also said that the Judoon will be making an appearence in the Series.
Next up John Barrowman said on the Chris Moyles Radio One Breakfast that he will be in Desperate Housewives! He said that he's 'got a meeting with the executives of Desperate Housewives'.
Sticking with John Barrowman one of his songs called ''I Made It Through The Rain' has reached it into the UK Top 40 Chart. BBC Audio have now released the cover (which can be seen below) and the synopsis for the first Torchwood audio drama called Asylum. The audio is one of three, and will be aired on BBC Radio 4 soon. The synopsis can be read below:-

When PC Andy Davidson arrests a young girl for shoplifting, he thinks it's going to be a routine case. That is, until he sees that she is carrying a gun. The girl is soaking wet, covered in mud, and the weapon is like nothing he's ever seen before. He knows that this is a case for Torchwood... The team discovers that the girl is called Freda, but can find out nothing else. Yet when she speaks, it's a strange mix of English and Icelandic,but with a Cardiff accent. While Jack and Ianto check out the girl's weapon and her blood sample at the Hub, Gwen and PC Andy take Freda to a safe house. But when Jack calls with the results - and Freda goes on the run - PC Andy finds his world turning upside down.

This Audio features John Barrowman (Captain Jack) Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper) Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones) and Tom Price (PC Andy Davidson). It is written by Anita Sullivan. Series 5 Companion Revealed!

Yes, the exciting news of who the the companion to the 11th Doctor will be has now been revealed! 21 year old Karen Gillan will be Matt Smith's assistant. The full arcticle can be seen here on the BBC's Official Doctor Who Website. A picture of actress and the TARDIS can be seen above. The name of the character she will be playing is not yet known, but as soon as that is revealed I'll let you know! The young actress said:-

"I am absolutely over the moon at being chosen to play the Doctor's new companion. The show is such a massive phenomenon that I can't quite believe I am going to be a part of it. Matt Smith is an incredible actor and it is going to be so much fun to act alongside him – I just can't wait to get started!"

In Other Exciting News David Tennant has been thrown into the mix of the potential Doctor Who Movie, it is said that he will be playing the Doctor, even though he is leaving at the end of the remaining three specials. Hello everyone, I know I haven't posted in a long time, and I apologise for that. However, good news! David Tennant will be in The Sarah Jane Adventures Series 3! The full press release can be seen below:-

Doctor Who fans are in for a treat this Autumn as David Tennant makes a special appearance as The Doctor in CBBC's hit drama series The Sarah Jane Adventures with a starring role across two episodes.

Elisabeth Sladen, who plays Sarah Jane, says: "When I heard the news that David was going to be joining us I was absolutely over the moon. Not only has it made my day but it will also make the viewers' day.

"It's fantastic news that Sarah Jane is going to spend some time working with The Doctor again and is testament to just how successful this CBBC series is."

Russell T Davies, Executive Producer of The Sarah Jane Adventures, adds: "Viewers thought they may have to wait until November for the next full episode of Doctor Who, but this is an extra special treat.

"And it's not just a cameo from David – this is a full-on appearance for The Doctor as he and Sarah Jane face their biggest threat ever."

The series includes 12 weeks of brand new adventures featuring a new alien race, the reptilian Veil and their enemies the Judoon, alongside an extraterrestrial girl that can make people play games against their will.

There will also be a living painting, the inhabitants of a supposedly haunted house, monsters who want to infect Earth with a strangely aggressive weed and a chance for Sarah Jane to find personal happiness with someone who could be the perfect person to complete her family.

Alongside adopted son Luke, Sarah Jane's team is made up of Luke's streetwise pal Clyde Langer, their schoolmate Rani, who lives opposite and has aspirations to become a journalist like Sarah Jane, and Mr Smith, their Xylok supercomputer up in the attic, plus Sarah Jane's robot dog, K-9.
